FAMILY REUNIFICATION
About this procedure
Family Reunification allows foreigners legally residing in Spain to apply for residency for certain family members, in order to guarantee family unity and a stable life in the country.
Who Can Apply?
A foreigner who has been legally residing in Spain for at least 1 year and wishes to bring his or her immediate family members to live with him or her may apply.
Spouse or Registered Partner
Duly verified and with apostilled document.
Minor Children
Minor children or financial dependents duly proven.
Ascendants Dependents
Dependent ascendants in certain cases and duly proven.
Requirements
Necessary conditions to authorize the residence of the family member.
Legal Residency
You must have a valid residence permit and have resided for a minimum of 1 year prior to application.
Economic Means
It is necessary to prove stable income to support the family unit without the need for public assistance.
Adequate Housing
It must be demonstrated that a dwelling is available that meets adequate conditions for family coexistence.
Family Bonding
Documentation proving the family relationship must be presented in a legalized, apostilled and valid form.
Application Procedure

Feasibility Study
The applicant's situation in Spain is analyzed to confirm that he/she can initiate the procedure.

Application Submission
The file is prepared and submitted to the administration, proving the family relationship and compliance with the requirements.
03.
Resolution and Visa Application
Once the authorization is granted, the family member applies for the corresponding visa at the Spanish consulate in order to be able to travel to Spain.
04.
Obtaining a Residence Card (TIE)
Upon arrival, an Alien Identity Card (TIE) is requested, which formalizes the family member's legal residence in the country.
