NATIONALITY BY RESIDENCE
This procedure allows foreigners who have resided legally in Spain for a certain period of time to apply for nationality, provided they meet the requirements established by law.
who can apply and how long residency is required?
Those who have lived in Spain legally, continuously and immediately prior to the application for the period of time required by the regulations may apply.
1 year
- Spanish spouse
- Born in Spain
- Widowed Spanish
- Among others.
2 years
Nationals of Latin American countries, Andorra, Philippines, Equatorial Guinea, Portugal or people of Sephardic origin.
5 years
For persons with refugee status.
10 years
General Term. Persons who do not fall within the above assumptions.
Requirements
To apply for nationality by residence, the following are generally required:
Correct Documentation
You must present the Certificate of Criminal Record and the Birth Certificate duly apostilled and in force.
Integration into society
It is accredited by passing the official exams (CCSE and DELE) of the Cervantes Institute.
Payment of the fee
The official fee (104,5€) must be paid before filing the application.
